The
Deadwood covered bridge was originally built in 1932, closed to
traffic in the 1970's, but restored in the mid 1980's.
This
particular bridge is 105 ft long. The floor of which was built on
a slant as shown in other pictures of the bridge,
was because the bridge is on a curve in the road.
To reach this bridge take Hwy. 36 North from Mapleton through Swisshome
to Deadwood then
turn North on Lower Deadwood Rd for about 5 miles. Turn onto
Deadwood Loop Road
for a short distance to the covered bridge & Deadwood Creek.
