at Silver Falls Park

Winter Falls is one of 10 falls within Silver Falls Park. It is accessible via a trail from a parking area along the main road. It is called Winter Falls because this 134 foot waterfall depends on winter runoff and best seen in the winter, spring and early summer. As you can see from these photos it was just a trickle and it was late in the day when we visited the falls.
While we visited only 4 of the 10 falls the others are accessible via an extensive trails system. The trail to the Lower South Falls was closed and undergoing repair from a slide that damaged the trail during the previous winter.
Bill is seated at a spot by the falls themselves. Another part of
the trail continues on to other falls.
